Rules & Policies

The foundation for all online leagues on NHL94 Online, refined through 20+ years of competitive play. Questions? Find us on Discord

Community Conduct

Good sportsmanship on and off the ice is non-negotiable. Losses happen, but don't let frustration turn into negative posts or messages. The Admin Team will not tolerate disrespectful behavior anywhere in the community.

First offense

Public warning via Discord.

Second offense

Removal as team owner and website account deleted.

Admin Team Responsibilities

  • Replace coaches who become inactive (those who miss checkpoints without making an effort to catch up).
  • Correct and re-log games that were recorded incorrectly.
  • Resolve disputes between coaches over games played or scheduled.
  • Adjust final standings for unplayed games. Negative Points (NPs) may be applied at the League Commissioner's discretion and can affect playoff eligibility.

Playing Games

  1. Contact your opponent via Discord and decide on a time to play.
  2. Both coaches open the game from the league's Schedule with the Play button. It runs in the browser, with the league's settings filled in.
  3. The result, player stats and highlights save themselves at the final whistle. If a game didn't save, upload a save state from the Schedule or contact an admin.

Dropped Games

The game checks that both browsers stay in sync. If they drift apart (a desync, usually after a large lag spike) or the connection drops, the match stops and can't be resumed. Reconnecting starts the game over from power-on. You have two options:

Restart from scratch:Best if there's no score and the desync happened early in the 1st period.
Restart and match the score:Manually allow goals to re-create the pre-desync score, then resume from the correct time.

Lag

If lag makes the game unplayable, speak up early. A game flagged as unplayable within the first minute may be cancelled and replayed with no penalty. Communication with your opponent is the key.

League Registration

Registration for each league is announced on Discord and the site, and each league sets its own dates and details. Register early, as late signups go to a waiting list. Waitlisted players must complete practice games to verify their connection before being called up.

Coach Replacement

The league runs weekly checkpoints scaled to the number of games. Coaches who miss a checkpoint may be replaced at the commissioner's discretion at any time. If you know you'll be unavailable, contact the commissioner in advance. Planned absences can usually be accommodated.

Coaches who are disruptive to the league may also be removed. Report concerns to the commissioner.
